We are looking for a dedicated Paint Prep Technician (Prepper) to be an integral part of the daily operations at our Aviva AutoCare Centre located in Mississauga . You will be responsible for the proper preparation of auto vehicles prior to application of refinish coatings. You will operate paint machines and tools, and will use the specified paint mixes, primers and sealers in accordance with automotive engineering specifications, painting procedures and standards. The Paint Prep Technician may have an advanced skill set including light body repairs and paint refinishing (Paint Technician).
What You’ll Do
De-grease, remove dirt, old paint or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint applicationMix paint pigments to match colour specifications or vehicle’s original coloursImplement the paint mixes as specified by the automotive paint engineersPour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thicknessOperate automated body paint systems for various types of vehiclesEnsure the painting processes adopted are performed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possibleAssist in the development of new paint processes and procedures
Monitor painting operations to identify flaws, such as blisters and streaks, and correct their causesEnsure repairs flow through the workshop and identify issues that result in failureUnderstand repair methodologyBe an active team member who encourages a collaborative working environment focusing on the customer and what matters to themDeliver on promises made to customers ensuring they will be without their vehicles for the shortest possible timeMaintain quality and technical standards within the Paint areaPromote Aviva AutoCare Centre values and goalsWhat You’ll Bring
