As a
Project Superintendent, you will :
â ¢ Be in charge of all on-site construction activities on a daily basis.
â ¢ Take the lead on productivity issues and monitor work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedule are followed and project is executed effectively and within budget.
â ¢ Contribute to the development of a construction plan and to manage subcontractor activities.
â ¢ Assure construction compliance with design requirements.
â ¢ Ensure project materials and workmanship meets the project Quality Standards.
â ¢ Ensure the implementation of The Murray Groupâ s Safety Program to create a safe work environment throughout the jobsite and adhere to the safety and record keeping requirements.
â ¢ Document and report all injuries, fill out Notice of Injury / Incident / Accident Reports.
â ¢ Advise management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing / resolving such conflicts.
â ¢ Perform additional assignments as directed by superiors or as required for successful project completion.
â ¢ Assist with preparation of as-built drawings including roads, parking lots, driveways, and excavations.
â ¢ Coordinate usage of owned and rented equipment on site for achieving maximum efficiency of equipment.
â ¢ Advise the Operations Manager of any quality assurance issues or problem areas.
â ¢ Maintain job diaries and site photos.
â ¢ Confirm quantities and payments with ownerâ s representative and subcontractors.
â ¢ Complete other duties as assigned
You will bring :
â ¢ Construction related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and / or related experience.
â ¢ A minimum of 5 years construction experience in road construction, fine grading, culvert installation or other related activities .
â ¢ Experience with GPS survey and grade control systems is an asset.
â ¢ Effective leadership skills and the ability to engage and manage crews
â ¢ Ability to lead and evaluate trade performance is essential.
â ¢ Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings and other documents.
â ¢ Computer knowledge, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, MS Word,
â ¢ Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others a must.
â ¢ Ability to use stairs, ladders and climb over rough terrain.
â ¢ Ability to work long hours per day in sometimes rough weather conditions.
â ¢ Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings as the project schedule demands.
â ¢ Valid Class G License and clean driverâ s abstract
â ¢ Willingness to travel and live according to project location.
