Location : based in Calgary, AB with periodic travel to Fort McMurray

We’re looking for several motivated Junior to Intermediate Mine Engineers to join our growing team and support tailings, waste dump, and short-range planning across multiple active operations.

This is a hands‑on technical role ideal for someone who wants real responsibility, field exposure, and the chance to directly influence safe and optimized material placement.

The ideal candidate(s) will be an Intermediate Engineer professional with at least 2 to 5 years of professional experience, with preference given to those with experience in the Oil & Gas industry (specifically with Oil Sands Mining experience). This position is based in Calgary, AB.

What You’ll Do :

• Develop short-range dump and tailings deposition plans (daily / weekly / monthly).
• Support the design and sequencing of waste dumps, tailings beaches, and containment structures.
• Create and maintain 3D models, surfaces, and solids for dumps, ponds, and lift progression.
• Run material balance checks, volume calculations, and deposition forecasts.
• Track volumes, densities, water levels, pond movement, and beach development.
• Assist operations teams during deposition, pumping, and water distribution activities.
• Provide field direction to pipeline / pump crews during site visits.
• Work closely with operations to guide material placement, beach development, and conformance to plan.
• Support daily / weekly production meetings with data-driven input.
• Conduct field checks, surveys, and validation of as-built surfaces.
• Analyze survey data, reconcile placement, and prepare engineering reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Provide insights that improve haul routes, dumping efficiency, and deposition strategies.
