Our team is expanding and looking to add a Launch Project Manager . We are seeking a dynamic and driven candidate interested in joining a rapidly growing global automotive company.
The Launch Project Manager will act as the primary liaison between the factory and its key clients, such as Honda, Ford, GM, and other OEM companies. Additional responsibilities include :
- Customer Relationship Management
Responsible for coordinating all matters related to mass production
Ability to host regular production review meetings with clients, reporting on performance metrics such as CQDS, and effectively managing clients' concerns and complaintsEnsuring that customer requirements and expectations are clearly understood and efficiently executed within the factoryPerformance Management of Mass Production ProjectsMonitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for mass production projects, including production efficiency, first-time pass rate (FTQ), scrap rate, customer PPM, and on-time delivery rate (OTD)
Lead internal teams to analyze performance gaps, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address deviationsProblem-Solving and ContainmentLead cross-functional factory teams (quality, engineering, production) in applying structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagram) to promptly and effectively resolve quality issues, delivery constraints, and supplier-related challenges during mass production
Change ManagementOversee all engineering change notifications (ECNs) after mass production, whether initiated by customers or internally, ensuring that each change undergoes thorough evalusation, verification, approval, and smooth implementation
Manage the associated impacts on cost and delivery timelinesCost and Budget ManagementCollaborate with the finance and operations departments to monitor mass production costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and implement value analysis / value engineering (VAVE) initiatives aimed at achieving annual cost reduction targets
Effectively manage quality-related costs associated with mass production issues, including scrap rework, and warranty claimsTo be a qualified candidate you must have the following :
Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (e.g., mechanical, industrial, automotive, or materials engineering), business administration, or a related fieldAt least five years of experience in project management or related roles within the mass production phase of the automotive parts manufacturing industryDirect experience collaborating with North American OEM customers (e.g., Honda, Ford, GM)Strong understanding of Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Procedure (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Control Plans; basic ability to interpret CAD and GD&T drawings is requiredCandidates with prior experience in aluminum alloy extrusion, die-casting, battery housing, or related automotive exterior components are preferredKey to being successful in this role :
Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) is preferred, but not requiredStrong technical ability with knowledge of materials and manufacturing and assembly processesA high level of self-motivation and bias for actionStrong communication, presentation and organization skillsAbility to directly interact with customers while providing a professional imageGood interpersonal skillsWhy work for Minth?
