Our growing team is currently looking for a passionate and professional Senior Structural Engineer to join our creative and engaged team in either our Orillia, Ontario office or Calgary, Alberta office.

The Position
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you are expected to work closely with the Department Manager to ensure all project deliverables are completed with absolute engineering integrity. You are expected to assist in achieving project objectives within specified timelines, schedules, and budgets. Your work will include structural design, analysis, and detailing of building structures and facilities including calculations and preparation of related documents.
Responsibilities
Perform assessments and structural feasibilities on building integrity, remedial approaches, and retrofits for structural solutions, prepare reports and designs based on findings / investigationsConduct construction site reviews, ensure work is performed in accordance with original engineered specificationsPrepare quotes and / or proposals for new projectsManage and monitor projects through all phasesMentor and assist in developing all engineering staffClient management including monthly invoicing and assisting of collecting accounts.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Civil or Structural EngineeringMust be a Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario with a degree in Civil Engineering (Structural Major) for a minimum of 7 years.Must have relevant experience for a minimum of 7 yrs in sealing in Canadian provinces.Additional provincial seals would be considered an assetProficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad and structural analysis software. Experience with Revit is an asset.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsSkills, Knowledge & Abilities
Advanced understanding of quality standards for structural design and planning, engineering fundamentals and principles, as well as all relevant codes and jurisdictionsAbility to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear mannerWillingness and ability to expertly assess, validate and stamp engineered drawings and structural designKnowledge of sustainable building design and construction, masonry and / or precast applications, including strength of material specifications and engineering standardsAbility to read, and interpret a wide variety of written resources including procedures, manuals, diagrams, architectural or electrical drawings and schedule formsExcellent time and project management skillsStrong knowledge of the OBC, NBC, OHSA and Construction Lien ActsHigh level of sound and independent judgment and reasoningStrong Leader and willingness to lead a teamSalary is based on experience
