Salary Range : $42,000.00 To $45,616.15 Annually
Position Purpose and Summary
The Campus Security & Safety Officer ensures a safe and secure campus for all students, staff, and faculty through completing assigned responsibilities.
Key Areas of Accountability
- Perform ‘main gate’ duties checking all vehicles entering campus.
- Complete foot and mobile patrol checks of all buildings and surrounding areas on campus.
- Complete reports on all incidents and questionable activities that require follow‑up by the supervisor.
- Conduct surveillance activities as required by the supervisor.
- Maintain complete confidentiality regarding all security matters on campus and work closely with the local RCMP detachment as required.
- Maintain awareness of Trinity Western University health and safety practices and procedures and act according to these.
- Maintain a sound working knowledge regarding Lockdown procedures including criteria for activation and take immediate and appropriate steps in the event of a Lockdown.
- Participate as an active team member of the Safety and Security department, giving suggestions and feedback, being effective and diligent in the role, and being accountable for completing departmental, professional and personal goals outlined in this role.
- Work effectively with team members so that a healthy work environment is established. This includes working through differences of opinion where personal feelings may be impacted as well as other conflicts that may arise.
- Provide First Aid Services to the campus community as required.

Standards & Requirements
Education : Completion of Grade 12 required.
Experience : 1‑2 years of related experience with direct experience in security preferred.
Certifications : Basic Security Training course completion and a BC Security Workers License are required before the start date. Able to complete and pass the OFA Level 2 First‑Aid and CPR certification course by the end of the probation period.
