About This Opportunity

Located in the beautiful suburban community of Bedford, ScotiaMed Family Medicine and Walk In Clinic opened in , the first clinic of it’s kind in the community.

The clinic provides family practice, urgent medical patient centered care and blood collection services by a friendly and professional staff in a convenient location that is wheelchair assessable and offers ample free parking.

Here are some highlights about this collaborative clinic :

  • Two full time physicians on staff
  • A 0.5 Family Practice Nurse
  • 7 day a week walk-in clinic
  • Excellent front office staff, including an office manager
  • Based in a community of approx. 30, residents
  • A well stocked procedure room for minor surgeries

This clinic is seeking a full time physician to join its team.

Responsibilities

  • ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • be accountable for appropriate workload and practice
  • work with other providers to provide after-hours access and emergency coverage when required
  • continuum of patient care with health care providers within your practice and / or community
  • provide care and coordination of community-based care, secondary and tertiary level heath care
  • build to capacity within the first two years
  • operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • work in collaboration with other team members in the practice to best suit the community’s health needs
  • participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Qualifications

  • all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • all specialists must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
