Job Overview
The Senior Dealer Finance Representative with lending limits is responsible for reviewing dealer finance-generated credit applications and providing prompt service to dealerships.
Role
In the role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Receive, process, and review all applications with special attention to near and non-prime applications from dealers through the loan system, referring any loans not approved by the system or within Letter of Authority to Manager, DFC or Delegate for their review/approval
- Interpret rate sheets, and experience in pricing in a non-prime environment
- Perform all duties including overrides within guidelines outlined in your "Letter of Authority"
- Promptly manage relationships with dealerships; including handling all incoming calls and inquiries
- Ensure all loans are secure prior to being advanced
- Diligently complete daily tracking and follow up on pending deals
- Conduct investigations and research as it is needed to support applications
- Provide dealership correspondence in a timely manner
- Communicate with members if any fraud warnings arise
- Support team to ensure maximum efficiency in delivering member service
- Adhere to policies and procedures at all times, as amended from to time
- Assist with cross training and job shadowing in all areas within the department
- Consider health & safety as a primary concern to ensure the overall well-being of yourself and others
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- 5+ years Credit Union/other Financial Institution experience specific to dealer finance loans with a minimum of 1-2 years proven experience in non-prime lending;
- Ability to interpret rate sheets, and experience in pricing in a non-prime environment
- Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and equivalent banking and lending platforms.
- Proven experience reviewing loans within assigned Letter of Authority including higher risk based lending limits
- Work within established departmental hours including Saturdays and extended hours to meet Member service needs
- Strong understanding of credit lending and loan proofing with experience in near and non prime lending
- Must have superior interpersonal communication and negotiation skills
- Inherently demonstrate a high level of integrity and trustworthiness
- Must be able to work well with minimum supervision
- Ability to effectively problem solve to find creative and beneficial solutions
- Ability to work in a high volume fast paced environment while being flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Be able to take action in difficult and challenging situations and deal with uncertainty
- Ability to identify and mitigate enterprise risk factors and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, legislation and FirstOntario policies and procedures
