Job Description
Location : Halifax, Nova Scotia (Hybrid Work) Contract Duration : 2.5 Years Position Overview : We are seeking a talented Cyber Security Specialist to join our clients team on a 2.
5-year contract basis. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's digital infrastructure and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.
This is a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects in a hybrid work environment, combining remote work flexibility with in-office collaboration in Halifax. Key Responsibilities :
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect our organization's networks, systems, and data from cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address security weaknesses.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
- Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into new and existing IT systems and applications.
- Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees on cybersecurity best practices.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security in health sector.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, with a focus on threat detection, incident response, risk management, and technical security architecture.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies, and tools.
- Experience with security assessment tools, such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM solutions, and penetration testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, such as GDPR, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, ITIL) are an asset.
