The Project Manager I leads and co-ordinates all aspects of the current projects undertaken by the department. The Project Manager I ensures that the deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as identified in the project plan.
The Project Manager I identifies and tracks metrics as they relate to the project deliverables, and provides consultation, guidance and support to designated project staff, contractors and stakeholders.
What you’ll do
- Establish detailed project charter, plans and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables.
- Execute project plan according to project methodologies, ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components, consult with stakeholders as needed and ensure readiness for project implementation.
- Track project progress according to project plan and identified metrics.
- Monitor and report on the status of projects and major barriers encountered.
- Make recommendations to Director of Clinical Informatics regarding projects scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome.
- Implement or contribute to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of project budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resource constraints and uses best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
- Provide leadership by giving advice or guidance in situations that require interpretation and judgment.
What you bring
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline.
- A minimum of five (5) year’s recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
- Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
You also have :
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and methodologies and ability to coach team members on these skills.
- Experience or working knowledge of content areas including healthcare, clinical informatics, and technical / interfacing projects is key to the success of this role.
- Effectively monitors budgets and executes project plans with stringent timelines.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- As a strong asset for consideration, we are looking for our successful candidate to have Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

Salary Range : $88,990 - $127,923 / year. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan.
Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.
