Attention Senior Quantum Scientists!

Department : Quantum Processors

Employment Type : Full Time

Location : British Columbia, Canada

Description

Have you seen it all in quantum computing? Are you a leader in your field? Photonic is seeking senior, experienced applicants in all areas of quantum information technology : spin defects, quantum control, quantum circuit design and optimization, algorithms, fault tolerance, and error correction.

At the lower end of the stack, you may have experience in spin-photon interfaces, dynamical decoupling, universal control, and gate compilation strategies.

At the upper end of the stack, quantum resource optimization, universal logical gate set strategies, resource state and memory management, distributed quantum computing, and error correction codes and decoders could be in your toolbelt.

Leverage your expertise to help us build scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computers based on photonically-linked silicon spins!

In this role, you will work with a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary team of scientists and quantum engineers responsible for quantum metrics, sequencing, networking, error correction, fault tolerance, and algorithms, or a relevant subset of the above.

You will enjoy significant freedom to find novel solutions to the most important problems in quantum computing.

Please include a cover letter with your resume (in one file) describing how you would be a great fit at Photonic and what attributes you could bring to our growing team.

Some of the attributes you could bring to our team :

  • 5+ years of increasing R&D responsibility within a quantum information processing company
  • Advanced degree (PhD) and academic experience in physics, mathematics, or related fields
  • A background in quantum information with an interest in theoretical or experimental quantum computing, error correction, fault-tolerance, resource estimation and optimization, noise models, distributed computing, compilation, and / or algorithm design
  • Significant experience with quantum architecture design best practices
  • Significant experience in setting research direction and a history of solving important problems
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations in rapidly changing R&D environment
  • Outstanding teamwork skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

WHY YOU SHOULD WORK WITH US

  • Get involved with a quantum startup company set to redefine computing
  • Work closely with some of the brightest innovators in quantum technologies
  • Enjoy a fast-paced and fun environment where you can try new things while solving innovative challenges every day
  • Inclusive company culture
  • Competitive salary, benefits (including life insurance, extended health, dental, long term disability, and a flexible spending account), and potential upside

The description above is what we think an ideal candidate would look like for this role. At Photonic, we understand that everyone has a different work and life journey.

If you feel your experience is close to what we've described, but you might not meet all the requirements, please still apply! We are also committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

We embrace and encourage our employees’ differences, knowing that these very differences inspire innovation and build better teams.

If there are any accommodations our team can make throughout our hiring process, please let us know.
