Data Engineer – Calgary

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled contract Data Engineer to support a major operational technology program working for KZenEdge as an integrated team member for an oil and gas owner / operator. Reporting to the KZE Project Manager, this role involves designing, building, and maintaining robust data infrastructure and pipelines to support critical oil and gas pipeline operations and analytical processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for operational technology systems
• Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes using cloud platforms (Azure / AWS)
• Implement data integration solutions connecting various operational systems and databases
• Optimize database performance and ensure data quality, governance, and security protocols
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives

This is an exciting opportunity to build mission-critical data infrastructure supporting energy operations through a multi-year OT initiative program with a midstream oil and gas major, providing valuable exposure to enterprise-scale data engineering challenges in the energy sector.
