m. to 5 : 30 p.m.Salary : $75,000 to $85,000 + discretionary bonusBenefits : 3 weeks of vacation + additional 15 days off a year + comprehensive benefits, RRSP matchJob Summary : The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing health, safety, and operational efficiency across production departments.
Responsible for fostering a safe work environment, the Quality Assurance Specialist coordinates activities that support continuous improvement projects and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities and Duties : - Complete incident / accident reports and propose corrective actions.- Update SOPs and draft new procedures as needed.
- Optimize employee scheduling and maintain daily logs with supervisors.- Manage health and safety-related requests and follow up with external parties as needed.
- Participate in the Health and Safety Committee and assist in training members and following up with improvements.- Coordinate and update health & safety training activities including PPE, WHMIS, first aid, and other safety topics.
- Oversee inventory and fulfill requests for OHS items (first aid kits, posters, PPE, etc.).- Update and maintain employee training programs in collaboration with HR.
- Monitor OHS statistics and maintain bulletin board updates.- Participate in evacuation drills and prepare related reports.
- Conduct monthly inspections of emergency equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits), and compile reports.- Enforce regulatory health & safety standards through regular audits and inspections.
- Coordinate continuous improvement projects focused on accident prevention and health and safety, including 5S and statistical monitoring.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and machine maintenance.- Coordinate with Quality Control lab on accurate product labeling and safe materials handling.
- Manage internal projects such as label replenishment and cleanup initiatives.- Perform additional tasks, as required by management.
Qualifications and Requirements : - Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite (including strong Excel skills)- Experience with Great Plains software- Education in Sciences with an understanding of chemical safety or similar- Very detail-oriented- Adept at organizing and prioritizing workloads- Self-starter, motivated to take initiativePlease send your resume in Word format to Maia Slivinschi at maia.
