About the role

  • Progressive experience with detailed industrial and chemical piping system layouts, both 2D & 3D.
  • Preparation of piping isometrics, line lists, and material take-offs.
  • Understanding of pipe support design requirements and movements.
  • Experience in the preparation of mechanical equipment layouts and general arrangement plans and sections.
  • Preparation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
  • Knowledge of material specifications and standards.
  • Field experience safely obtaining existing site information with respect to pipe routing, arrangements, supports, and sizes to develop background drawings with limited assistance.
  • Knowledge of engineering work flow process and industry standards.
  • Ability to work closely with senior engineers and senior designers on completion of deliverables with challenging schedules.
  • Comprehensive understanding and proficiency with 2D & 3D CAD tools and applications such as : AutoCAD, AutoPlant, Navisworks, SmartPlant

About you :

  • Diploma, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (Process Piping Major) or a Process Piping Drafting Certificate combined with relevant job experience.
  • 7 10 years of piping design experience within a consulting engineering firm working on industrial and / or chemical plant projects.
  • Field work experience is a strong asset.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technically, clearly, and effectively : written, spoken, and interpersonal.
  • Sound understanding of Engineering design principles, codes and regulations.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel to site independently
