About the role
- Progressive experience with detailed industrial and chemical piping system layouts, both 2D & 3D.
- Preparation of piping isometrics, line lists, and material take-offs.
- Understanding of pipe support design requirements and movements.
- Experience in the preparation of mechanical equipment layouts and general arrangement plans and sections.
- Preparation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Knowledge of material specifications and standards.
- Field experience safely obtaining existing site information with respect to pipe routing, arrangements, supports, and sizes to develop background drawings with limited assistance.
- Knowledge of engineering work flow process and industry standards.
- Ability to work closely with senior engineers and senior designers on completion of deliverables with challenging schedules.
- Comprehensive understanding and proficiency with 2D & 3D CAD tools and applications such as : AutoCAD, AutoPlant, Navisworks, SmartPlant
About you :
- Diploma, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (Process Piping Major) or a Process Piping Drafting Certificate combined with relevant job experience.
- 7 10 years of piping design experience within a consulting engineering firm working on industrial and / or chemical plant projects.
- Field work experience is a strong asset.
- Ability to pay attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technically, clearly, and effectively : written, spoken, and interpersonal.
- Sound understanding of Engineering design principles, codes and regulations.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good organization and time management skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and be able to travel to site independently
