Job Description :
Our client within wealth management requires a Case Manager (Underwriter) to join their team. This highly collaborative role will be part of the Underwriting team that is responsible for the daily activities in case management of new business cases for ultra-high net worth life insurance.
The individual in this role works directly with our advisors, pricing team, insurance partners, physicians, vendors and our business families, to undertake a wide range of underwriting support functions and managing every step of the underwriting process with a strong attention to detail, accuracy, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to service excellence.
Responsibilities :
- Manage multiple submissions of life insurance applications and every step of the underwriting process with a sense of urgency.
- Reconcile and process outstanding pending case requirements, requests for additional information and be relentless in following up and completing requirements.
- Consolidate data and communicate regular case status reports to stakeholders.
- Manage the day-to-day activities by prioritizing, organizing tasks and efficiently switching between tasks productively.
- Maintain productivity and service level standards with a high level of accuracy, while driving activities to tight deadlines.
- Participate in the implementation of efficiency process changes to achieve key business goals.
- Apply critical thinking skills to identify issues and collaborate with the appropriate people to problem solve, provide solutions, or escalate.
- Provide sound judgment, and ensure information is relayed accurately and in a positive and courteous way.
- Participate fully in projects and corporate development work to seek improvements in underwriting excellence and efficiency, and to help the growth of the company.
Qualifications :
- University or college degree / diploma in business administration or health administration is an asset.
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience in case management within health care or financial services.
- Ultra-high net worth insurance experience strongly preferred and is an asset.
- Healthcare experience is an asset.
- Sound problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills.
- Strong customer focus and service orientation.
- Achieve work goals, have a continuous learning mindset, and a willingness for growth and development.
- Adaptability and flexibility take initiative, be self-starter and collaborate within a team environment.
- Time management able to multi-task and coordinate own work to deliver on several items in parallel to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable communicating with physicians, insurers and advisors.
- Culture enthusiast strong alignment with our organizational mission, vision, core values and culture.
- Strong Microsoft Office / Excel / PowerPoint / Word skills. Experience using SalesForce CRM is an asset.
