Desktop Support Specialist

Location : Montreal, Canada

Salary : Up to 110,000 CAD per year

Work Arrangement : Onsite, 4 days per week

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading macro trading organization in Montreal, seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to provide exceptional end-user support in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. This role offers the chance to work closely with cutting-edge trading technologies while leveraging automation tools like PowerShell to improve workflows and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for end users.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain Windows workstations and related devices for a trading floor environment.
  • Automate processes and enhance system management using PowerShell scripting.
  • Support enterprise applications, including Active Directory, Office 365, and market data tools.
  • Maintain and document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and inventory.
  • Provide support for trading-specific applications and peripherals.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement improvements and ensure system reliability.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for critical system support.

What We’re Looking For

Experience :

  • 1–4 years in a Desktop Support role, ideally in financial services or a similarly demanding environment.

    • Technical Skills :

  • Advanced PowerShell scripting to automate and optimize processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and enterprise tools such as Active Directory and Office 365.
  • Familiarity with trading floor technologies and market data applications (advantageous).

  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
