Reservoir/Exploitation Engineer

We are looking for a professional with a strong background in Reservoir and Exploitation Engineering to be a member of our Calgary technical team working on multiple Cardinal assets with a focus on Central Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate would need to be able to perform their duties individually and in a group environment with development teams.

Ability to work well with others in a team environment is critical. The successful candidate would have the following experience and skills.

Experience / Skills :

Prior experience with EOR particularly waterfloods in Western Canada. Experience in CO2 EOR would be advantageous :

• Surveillance and optimization of injection patterns along with well level interactions between injection and production wells
• Injection target recommendations
• Analysis of flood conformance
• Pressure transient analysis
• Development planning including drilling location evaluation
• Support year end reserves evaluation
• Log analysis

Ability to identify opportunities to :

• increase recovery in established mature reservoirs
• improve well productivity of underperforming wells with workover and stimulation recommendations; reactivations; re-entries; recompletions
• identify bypassed opportunities
• decrease operating costs
• improve area netback

Collaborative approach to working in small multi-disciplinary teams.

• Minimum 12 years of experience.
• Familiar with field operations. A good understanding of equipping, tie-in and facility projects

Additional :

Experience with the following software is advantageous :

• Schlumberger Oil Field Manager (OFM)
• IHS Accumap and / or geoSCOUT
• IHS Welltest (pressure transient analysis)
• Verdazo
• Assist with the preparation of capital, operating cost and production budgets.
• Evaluation of drill prospects; risk analysis and type curve analysis.
• Evaluation of acquisition opportunities, identifying upside.
• Assist / coordinate government applications as required.
• Attention to detail with an ability to do reasonableness checks.
