Overview
The Controller supports corporate and division financial objectives by providing financial analyses and recommendations; assists VP, Finance and regional business leaders in all financial functions. The Controller is responsible for the daily accounting transactions, accounting procedures and financial reporting. In addition to leading the Accounting Managers, this position is also responsible for implementing and maintaining internal controls, financial reporting, policies, and filing requirements.

Key Deliverables
- Accomplish accounting human resource strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies
- Develop accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establish functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
- Establish accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends; establish critical measurements; determine production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; design systems; accumulate resources; resolve problems; implement change
- Establish working procedures and process for accounting personnel
- Provide financial projections by coordinating budget / forecast preparation; collect, analyze, and consolidate financial information; advise departments on the collection and analysis of data
- Oversee the daily accounting activities required to maintain; review and ensure accuracy of the general ledger
- Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and ad hoc reports
- Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
- Coordinate and manage annual audits
- Supervise, direct and review the work of the accounting team
- Assist with annual budget development as required
- Maintain sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; read professional publications; maintain personal networks; participate in professional organizations
- Accomplish division and organization mission by completing related results, as needed
What You Bring
University degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related degrees with an Accounting designationMust have a minimum of 10 years progressive experience in accounting, finance and managementMust possess expert accounting knowledge, be familiar with accounting principles and legislation requirements at all levelsSelf-motivated, comfortable taking initiative, possesses superior organizational and problem-solving skills, and ability to work under time-constraintsExcellent communication, leadership and computer skillsReal Estate experience and working within a large organization would be an assetKnowledge of US GAAP would be an assetWhat We Offer
