JOB OVERVIEW
This position is responsible for providing support to the Major Gifts team, supporting the Canadian Cancer Society frontline fundraising staff achieve their fundraising goals, through database management and special projects.
The role is responsible for specializing in Salesforce, SharePoint management, financial revenue reconciliation, and project management of special programs, like the National Gift of Securities Program.
This position provides strategic support of CCS’s Major Gifts program, which raises approximately $15-$20 million per year, in addition to other revenue teams as needed.
This position will work closely with DAS, IT, Finance, Gift Processing, and other revenue development teams.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING :
Financial reconciliation and administration :
- Works with Finance and Gift Processing teams to review Major Giving cheques and provide accurate record links and payment detail coding.
- monitors the Salesforce error dashboards for ongoing data clean-up so that donations solicited by the Leadership Giving team are acknowledged in a timely manner
- supports the Finance Reconciliation Implementation Project by undertaking donation re-coding review to ensure revenue is correctly documented and donations are properly stewarded by fundraisers
Pipeline Management administrative tasks :
- Gifts of Securities (GOS) : the time-sensitive process for gifts of public traded securities for tax receipts requires precision and multiple tasks in accordance with CCS Gift Acceptance Policy
- Works alongside Pipeline Management team to support fundraisers in data entry and data clean-up to ensure up to date and accurate fundraising pipelines
- Assists Pipeline Management team in responding to support requests from Major Giving fundraisers
Business process insights :
- Corporate record clean-up to enhance corporate hierarchical business linkages and de-duped records for several industry sectors
- Lead generation and prospecting tasks as assigned to continually refresh the Major Giving donor pools and bring new prospects into the organization / identify prospects already in the organization’s database
Data Integrity and governance :
- Focus on data necessitates to provide insights regarding further efficiencies (streamlining tools, processes, and reports) based on feedback from colleagues and observance of data input results
- Reinforce consistency in the organization's data and analytics approaches to enable long-term data informed strategies
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :
- At least one year experience in not-for-profit and previous philanthropy and / or corporate social responsibility background is an asset.
- Demonstrated professionalism in written and verbal communications.
- Experience with a multi-faceted organization requiring the ability to prioritize, work independently, meet multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Post-secondary degree in a related field and / or combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets, and data visualization tools would be an asset.
- Interest in technology with the ability to learn new tools and stay up to date with new features.
- Experience understanding and working with a CRM database would be an asset
- Proactive, self-motivated and resourceful
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to anticipate and plan, problem solve and exercise sound judgment
- Experience with Salesforce, Tableau or Power BI is preferred
- Bilingual in English and French is preferred
