Job Summary
TheCommunityEvents Assistant leads Surrey Food Bank’s onsite presence at community andthird-partyevents. This roleleadsvolunteers, executes event setup and guest experience, ensures safe / accuratedonation handling, captures content, and completespost eventreporting.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee allday ofevent operations, including arrival, setup, signage placement, registration management, guest experience, and event teardown.
- Leadand support Events Volunteers on site; run abrief orientationand assign roles.
- Follow donation handlingStandardOperating Procedures(cash box / QR), reconcile andsubmitevent summary.
- Manage event kit / inventory; report wear / needsto EventsLead.
- Represent SFB professionally; deliver brief ‘Meet the Bank’ scripts whenappropriate.
- File posteventdebriefswithin48 hoursto Events Leadif needed.
Experience &Qualifications

Ability tolift upto50poundsThis position requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.Class 5 driver’s license and cleandriver’srecordAbility to drive a cargo vanSuccessfulcompletionand maintenance of the criminalrecordprocess, includingthevulnerable sectorsearch.Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions.Available formost weekends (schedule provided 4–6 weeksahead).
Compensation
