Description de posteAbility tolift upto50pounds This position requires standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. Class 5 driver’s license and cleandriver’srecord Ability to drive a cargo van Successfulcompletionand maintenance of the criminalrecordprocess, includingthevulnerable sectorsearch. Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in varying weather conditions. $24.00per hour (casual), mileage reimbursement when applicable.
Reports to : Events Lead (Planning & Coordination)
Ideal Candidate : Student or emerging professional seeking weekend work in events / community engagement.
Job Summary
TheCommunityEvents Assistant leads Surrey Food Bank’s onsite presence at community andthird-partyevents. This roleleadsvolunteers, executes event setup and guest experience, ensures safe / accuratedonation handling, captures content, and completespost eventreporting.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee allday ofevent operations, including arrival, setup, signage placement, registration management, guest experience, and event teardown.
- Leadand support Events Volunteers on site; run abrief orientationand assign roles.
- Follow donation handlingStandardOperating Procedures(cash box / QR), reconcile andsubmitevent summary.
- Manage event kit / inventory; report wear / needsto EventsLead.
- Represent SFB professionally; deliver brief ‘Meet the Bank’ scripts whenappropriate.
- File posteventdebriefswithin48 hoursto Events Leadif needed.

Work Conditions
Available formost weekends (schedule provided 4–6 weeksahead).
