Job Details
The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Community Services department, Family and Community Services (FCSS) Branch as a term Community Development Coordinator.
Reporting to the Manager, Community Strategies, this position will be responsible for taking the lead on developing and implementing Community Development initiatives as identified by Council priority.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating on-going environmental scans that identify key community issues in assigned target areas; engaging residents and community partners / stakeholders.
- Facilitating program outcome evaluation and reporting of key projects and programs, communicating the same to partners both internally and externally.
- Conducting research and preparing reports and correspondence on a number of social issues in consultation with community partners and as required by Council, administration or department that provides direction and best practice approach for the delivery of social services and supports.
- Providing direct support, including information and referral, to residents of the community as required via telephone, email, or walk-in, including follow-up support as appropriate.
The person we seek has advanced skill and knowledge base of community and program development and community engagement principles.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related discipline and 5 years of community development and community engagement experience.Superior evaluation, outcomes and tracking skills that can ensure deliverables are met and reported.Proficient in program development, fund development, research and report writing.A strong understanding of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility.Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
Hours of Work
We offer a compressed bi-weekly work schedule of 72 hours, Monday Friday, 8 : 00 – 5 : 00, with a biweekly regular day off (RDO).There will be requirements for overtime, evening hours, and travel to attend local and regional meetings.Benefit from flexible work hours by adjusting your start and end times by 30 or 60 minutes around our core hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Compensation

Eligible to apply for a Hybrid Remote Work arrangement, with a minimum of 51% of work time spent onsite and the remainder worked remotely.
