The Headhunters Recruitment have partnered with Inspired Cannabis Co (https : / / inspiredcannabis.ca / ) to add a Director of Retail Operations to their growing team.

Based in Vancouver, BC and reporting to the President, The Director of Retail Operations is a strategic leader responsible for driving growth and operational excellence across all retail locations.

This role entails developing and executing sales strategies to maximize revenue, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

The Director will oversee inventory management, team development, and budgetary controls while optimizing store layouts and expanding our retail footprint.

Strong leadership, industry knowledge, and a focus on customer experience are essential for success in this dynamic role.

It’s important to note that this isn’t a turnaround project. This is already a well-oiled operation and due to growth, we’re looking for a leader to take this to the next level.

Due to the level of knowledge required, those with current experience overseeing multiple District / Area Managers, responsible for locations across the country, will be prioritized.

Key responsibilities include :

Develop and implement retail strategies to drive growth, profitability, and operational excellence in the cannabis retail sector.

Lead the team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of retail locations, ensuring consistent execution of company standards. Implement efficient processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Create and execute sales strategies to maximize revenue across all locations. Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Maintain high standards of service, product knowledge, and store presentation. Use customer feedback to continually improve the retail experience.
  • Ensure all operations comply with cannabis industry regulations. Keep the team informed and compliant with updates.
  • Manage inventory levels and implement merchandising strategies to boost sales.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing retail team. Set performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Lead new store openings and optimize layouts to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Develop and manage budgets to control costs and monitor financial performance, including wage and labor budgets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.

What the successful candidate will bring :

  • 7+ years of experience in retail leadership, with at least 3+ years overseeing District / Area Managers.
  • Leadership experience overseeing at least 8+ retail locations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Strong operational, sales, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset for data-driven decision-making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Financial acumen and budget management expertise.
  • Proficiency in retail management software and wage budgeting.
  • Ability to travel to locations throughout Canada.

In return, you can expect :

  • Base Salary ranging from $110,000 to $135,000 depending on experience, including Bonus plan
