Description

Toronto Harbour Nautical Centre is a dedicated and well-established Club and Sailing & Powerboating School, providing access to the water through their educational and recreational boating programs.

Conveniently located in downtown Toronto, immediately south of the Rogers Centre and CN Tower, our clubhouse has access to over 60 sail and power craft.

We operate a fleet of sailboats and powerboats that are used for rentals, memberships, corporate events, summer camps, and Sail Canada courses.

Toronto Harbour Nautical Centre (THNC) is currently seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our office team as Sales, & Customer Service Representatives.

The Sales & Customer Service Representative positions are responsible for general administrative, office, sales and customer service duties, as well as course, membership and rental processing procedures.

Staff will be required to know all areas of the business and will be provided with comprehensive training.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for front line delivery of sales and customer service, and other office administration pertaining to the position
  • Provide exceptional customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions
  • Assist customers with inquiries, purchases, and issue resolution
  • Utilize strong sales techniques to upsell services
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Analyze customer needs to recommend the best solutions
  • Maintain a high level of phone etiquette during customer interactions
  • Carry out member and rental boat bookings in compliance with protocols and policies in place
  • Ensure member and customer profiles are up to date, and maintain customer informationdatabase
  • Monitor member and rental boat usage and ensure that members are following club policies
  • Ensure members are well informed through regular and varied communication, and build positive relationships with our customers
  • Communicate to supervisor any maintenance or boat issues that have been reported
  • Ensure that all Club and Health and Safety policies and measures are adhered to by staff and customers
  • Participate in Sales, Customer Service and other general duties including opening and closing procedures, providing service information and selling our services, processing transactions, rental applications, filing / entering data, and maintaining building cleanliness

Key Performance Indicators

  • The Sales & Customer Service Staff must provide exceptional customer service to all patrons. They must maintain a high level of commitment and dedication in their work performance, and ensure they are always working efficiently and effectively
  • Key performance indicators include ensuring that the administrative duties are carried out with an essential degree of accuracy, taking direction well from their supervisors, effectively communicating with the office and dock team, and providing a high level of service and support to customers

Skills & Requirements

  • Secondary education with good grades in Math and English
  • Experience in customer service, sales and administration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with good professional telephone manners
  • Good organization and time management skills, able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Must be detail orientated
  • Must be computer literate, familiar with Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and statutory holidays
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. Non-Canadian applicants must have a valid employment visa and proper documentation authorizing their ability to work in Canada for the full duration of the contract
  • Post-secondary education in the fields of Tourism / Hospitality / Leisure Management is an asset
  • Experience with customer service, sales, and administration in sailing club environments is an asset
