Role Description

Are you an experienced geologist or engineer looking to step up your game and take on a challenge? Do you have a diverse skillset and range of experience that you think would make you an efficient project manager and effective team leader?

inData Geoscience Ltd. is looking to hire a Project Geologist with a strong technical background and who is ready to move toward project management and leadership.

Working directly with the Principal Geologist and others on the inData team, the Project Geologist will be responsible for the design, execution, and safe delivery of technical field programs on time and on budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher-level degree in an earth science or mining engineering-related field from a recognized post-secondary institution;
  • Professional Geoscientist (P. Geo.), or Engineer (P. Eng.), or intention to fulfill requirements of professional registration within two (2) years;
  • At least three (3) years experience in fieldwork related to mineral exploration and mining. Direct drilling-related experience considered an asset;
  • At least one (1) year experience in a leadership role;
  • Holder of a BC Mine Supervisor Certificate, or willingness to acquire;
  • Occupational First Aid Level III, or equivalent, considered an asset;
  • Experience with UAV (drone) operation and remote sensing considered an asset;
  • Experience and / or certification in the trades, such as welding or carpentry, will be considered an asset.
  • Preference will be given to those with experience in high-pressure roles such as emergency response, military, police, firefighting, and other similar roles, as well as to those that have demonstrated voluntary assumption of heightened situational responsibility, such as commercial or private pilots, marine deck officers, volunteer firefighters, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Realistic program budgeting, forecasting, precision tracking;
  • Design and execution of target development programs, such as mapping; rock, soil, stream sediment sampling; geochemical and geophysical surveys;
  • Design and execution of exploration, resource and geotechnical drilling programs;
  • Development of reports, memos and other documents for the purposes of communicating technical data and information;
  • Program planning and logistics, including camps, equipment and instrumentation;
  • Onsite human resources and development of site-specific health and safety procedures;
  • Strict adherence to inData's Code of Conduct, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Engineers and Geoscientists of BC Code of Ethics, and all other established documents, processes and procedures;
  • Other responsibilities commensurate with the role.

Requirements

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada in a professional capacity, indefinitely;
  • Valid BC Class 5 driver's license, or equivalent issued by a jurisdiction in Canada. Driver's abstract will be requested;
  • Must be willing to undergo a criminal record check;
  • Must be willing to provide proof of credentials;
  • Ability to travel to and remain at remote project sites for extended periods;
  • Must provide at least three (3) references who can verify both work experience and performance, as well as character.
