Packaging Supervisor

Venetian Meats and Salami Co. Ltd. is a family-owned company producing dry cured and cooked pork sausage products located in Stoney Creek, Ontario. As an established meat processing company, we are continually growing our team by seeking a talented individual to fill a full-time position as Packaging Supervisor.

Productivity and Cost Management

• Ensure product, line and labour efficiencies are met. Provide explanation for not meeting standards.
• Execute with a sense of urgency.
• Work with Production Scheduler to plan and execute production to optimization.
• Participate in standardization of line processes.
• Must be able to trouble shoot and identify mechanical problems.
• Have a sense of urgency for process improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
• Develop highly involved and motivate team members.
• Providing communication between different Teams.
• Execute team meetings.
• Coach and train employees in performance and productivity.
• Will be required to assume other duties deemed necessary by the Company.
• Adhere to SOPs pertaining to Quality & Food Safety, must follow Company Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures
• Set-up and tear down of equipment in a safe and timely manner.
• Ensuring all equipment is set up and cleaned as per SOP’s, GMPs & CFIA regulations.
• Complete production and QC documentation as it relates to CCPs paperwork.
• Ensure employees follow proper facility GMP program.
• Ensure the integrity of products and that they meet Company specifications.
• Maintain a role on the Company’s HACCP Team and Safety Team.
• Complete product quality inspections effectively on the shift, and are documented correctly.
• Ensure process parameters are maintained within prescribed limits and documentation is filled out correctly.

QUALIFICATIONS

• College Diploma or Degree
• Minimum five (5) years of work experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong leadership.
• HACCP/SQF certification/experience
• Enhanced analytical and lean manufacturing skills.
• Good communication skills: Highly Proficient in English (both written and verbal)
• Ability to work in a high paced team environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Must be physically capable of lifting and manually moving products weighing up to 50lbs.
• Independently motivated.
• Strong commitment to completing tasks on a timely basis in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong computer skills including Word and Excel
