Position Overview :
As a Developer on our team, you will design, build, and maintain enterprise web applications that support the core tools used in our insurance brokerage operations. You'll work across the full stack to deliver robust solutions, optimize performance, and improve user experience while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technology solutions with defined business needs.
Key Responsibilities :
Design, develop, and test full-stack web applications following established coding standards and best practices
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services and platforms
Write efficient, secure, and maintainable code with proper documentation and version control practices
Optimize database queries and application performance to ensure system reliability and responsiveness
Collaborate with team members to plan, estimate, and execute development projects using Agile methodologies
Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in production environments, including bug fixes and patches
Research and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve development efficiency
Implement automated testing strategies to ensure application quality and reduce regression issues
Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Contribute to technical documentation including architecture decisions, API specifications, and deployment procedures
Support cloud migration initiatives and implement modern deployment practices
Maintain awareness of security vulnerabilities and implement appropriate safeguards in application code
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience :
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
3-5 years of professional software development experience (exceptional candidates with less experience will be considered based on demonstrated technical ability)
Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming languages, particularly C#, .NET and JavaScript framework
Solid JavaScript experience with modern frameworks and libraries for building interactive web applications (ExtJS)
Experience with relational databases, particularly SQL Server, including query optimization and database design
Understanding of web server technologies and deployment processes in Windows server environments
Practical experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with third-party service providers
Proficiency with version control systems, preferably Git, and collaborative development workflows
Familiarity with project management tools and Agile development practices
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing requirements
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Salary Expectations :
The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
