Job description

At Stantec, we are driving the future of Community Development. Our experts lead their fields, collaborating on projects that are as technically challenging as they are impactful, creative, and fulfilling. We are a place where you can apply your passion—and find endless opportunities to help make the communities we work in more equitable, resilient, and livable. We connect the people, places, and resources that take a project from concept to reality.

Are you ready to make a significant impact and lead the way in landscape architecture? We are on the hunt for a passionate and dedicated Landscape Architect to join and potentially lead our dynamic and growing practice in British Columbia. This is your chance to work on a variety of thrilling projects that demand innovative design solutions and a collaborative spirit.

Imagine being at the forefront of improving our communities though design, creating spaces that enhance the quality of life for everyone who uses them. As a key player in our team, you will lead project teams, develop groundbreaking design concepts, and ensure that every project is completed on time and within budget. If you are a creative thinker with a commitment to excellence and a desire to be part of a design-driven practice, we want to hear from you. Let us build the future together!

Your Opportunity

Are you a creative, innovative, and ambitious Landscape Architect looking to make a significant impact? Join our Community Development team at Stantec’s Vancouver office! We are seeking a licensed Landscape Architect to lead and/or assist on local, provincial, and regional projects for private and public clients.

At Stantec, we work on a diverse range of projects that ignite creativity and innovation. From urban design for public realms and plazas to parks, open spaces, sports complexes, and waterfronts, our projects are as varied as they are exciting. We also delve into reclamation, restoration, transportation corridors, healthcare, education, commercial, retail, residential, and mixed-use developments.

Our Vancouver team not only leads landscape architectural projects but also collaborates within experienced interdisciplinary teams with a variety of specializations. If you are passionate about creating spaces that enhance the quality of life and are ready to bring your creative vision to life, we would love to hear from you.

Your Key Responsibilities

As part of our team, you will collaborate with skilled professionals on projects from initial planning to project close-out. Depending on your experience, you may lead or work under general supervision on various projects, ranging from small urban parklets to full subdivision open space and park plans. You will also play a key role in large and unique projects, where you will be responsible for landscape architectural design and detailing.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as design/project lead or LA of record on various projects and oversee project work completed by others.

  • Support BC leadership in Major Projects and Land Strategy initiatives.

  • Stay updated on industry activity/policy to maintain industry positioning.

  • Communicate effectively with clients and contractors to resolve project issues and implement designs.

  • Conduct site investigations and construction inspections.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Through demonstrated experience on landscape architecture projects, you have honed your design and technical skillset as it relates to landscape architectural projects.

Capabilities and credentials include but are not limited to:
