As part of a global function you’ll have a front-row seat to strategic conversations and influence across Aviva’s divisions. This is your chance to work on high-impact projects, partner with senior leaders and see the bigger picture of how a leading insurer operates.
In this role you’ll collaborate with talented colleagues in Canada and across the globe to deliver audits that matter, from planning and scoping to reporting and recommendations. You’ll leverage data analytics and innovative tools to uncover insights, solve complex challenges and help us focus on what truly drives Aviva’s success.
What you’ll do :
Reporting to the Vice President, Internal Audit, collaborate as a key member of the Canadian Internal Audit team, to deliver audits included in the annual risk-based plan.
Contribute to annual planning and support reporting to executives and the Audit Committee.
Develop and deliver an audit opinion on internal controls through completion of the audit process. This includes planning (risk assessment, scoping, objective setting), fieldwork, reporting and follow up.
Apply your audit experience and data analytics skills to improve how we work and engage with the business.
Take ownership of your development and mentor colleagues to support team growth.
Drive wider Internal Audit initiatives and projects.
Produce clear, timely, and high-quality reports.
What you’ll bring :
Degree or equivalent experience; professional qualifications preferred.
Audit, risk, accounting or actuarial qualifications or equivalent business experience.
8+ years of experience in internal audit or risk management, ideally in insurance or with a Big Four firm.
Strong knowledge of financial, risk, and insurance topics.
Experience leading projects and teams and building strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
Strong business insight and an understanding of the critical business issues facing insurance companies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with data analytics and innovative audit practices.
What you’ll get :
The salary band for this position ranges from $120,000 to $150,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
