Test Technician – HVAC / Refrigeration

Location : Barrie

Shift : Days

Compensation : $45–$52 / hr

We are seeking a hands-on Test Technician with experience in commercial refrigeration equipment to join our innovative team.

In this role, you will play a critical part in the development of new refrigeration systems, building and evaluating prototypes, contributing to design improvements, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Engineering team to review and contribute to initial design concepts

Build, evaluate, and troubleshoot new equipment prototypes

Provide feedback to Design Engineers during prototype construction and testing

Recommend and specify appropriate tools, equipment, and resources for testing

Advise on and improve end-of-line testing procedures to increase quality and throughput

Prepare detailed test reports while ensuring compliance with all applicable certification standards

Desired Experience

5+ years building, troubleshooting, or testing mechanical, electrical, or control systems

5+ years experience with refrigerant-charged equipment

Experience with natural and / or A2L refrigerants is an asset

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education / Certification

Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering Degree (preferred)

Refrigeration or Mechanical Technology Diploma

313A or 313D Refrigeration License
