Job description

Job Description :

  • This position requires a person having 7+ years of relevant experience in the given technology areas.
  • Adhering to SLAs.
  • Mentoring / Training Team Members.
  • Handling tickets / requests.
  • Perform root cause analysis.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Defining processes and ensuring that the processes are adhered to.
  • Oversees and is responsible for successful completion of Installation, configuration and migration.
  • Ensure maximum uptime according to the SLA.
  • Understanding of Multi-geo support environment.
  • Responsible for building / maintaining a test environment.
  • Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Suggests new technologies and design changes.
  • Monitoring and maintaining SLA requirements by the team members.
  • Suggesting patches / upgrades to maintain security level.
  • Testing / Auditing / processes as required from time to time.
  • Identify Skill gaps and plan for training / knowledge updating.

Technical Requirements :

  • VMWare Infrastructure Administration and management.
  • Installation, Provisioning and Troubleshooting of VMware Virtual Infrastructure and Physical Server.
  • Installation, upgradation and Configuration of VMware vSphere Platform 6.x,7.x ESXi Host, vCenter Server.
  • Deployment and Provisioning of Windows, Linux VM from template, ISO and preconfigured appliances.
  • Installations for security patches, functional patches, and version upgrades.
  • Performance tuning of ESX server.
  • Implement Hardening on ESXi Server.
  • Document support processes.
  • Maintain Compliance with Corporate Security Policies :
  • Security Policies : Work together with the security team, identify the server vulnerability issues and resolve them.
  • Responsible for restoration of data.
  • Snapshot, HA, DRS & Cloning background process.
  • vCenter and ESXi Security hardening as per VMware security standards and best practices.
  • ESXi host profile creation and implementation.
  • Health Check for VMs and ESX host using vRealize Suite.
  • Capacity Planning for virtual environment (Cluster capacity, Storage capacity).
  • Expanding VM resources like CPU & RAM and adding / expanding VMDKs.
  • Update manager through OS upgradation.
  • VMware ESX (from version 6.0 to the release 6.7 and 7.0).
  • Proficient on VMware technologies like : - VMware High-Availability, VMware vMotion, VMware DRS, VMware vCenter and vCenter Update Manager, - VMware vCenter and Web console.
  • Troubleshooting, upgradation of ESXi host, VMware tools, NIC & HBA Drivers and firmware on requirement basis or break fix.
  • Managing License Compliance for vCenter, ESXi, vROP’s, VRA.
  • Manage and Configuration of Monitoring tool vRealize Operations.
  • Hands-on experience of Server build Automation.
  • Extensive knowledge on DR Tools like SRM and Veritas.
  • In depth knowledge of managing Client / Dell hardware and configuration of Networking and storage via Client Tools.
  • Knowledge and Hand-on experience of Client OneView and Virtual Connect.
  • Skills :

  • Excellent communication and conversation skills (Verbal and Written).
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Should have excellent customer handling skills.
  • Able to handle high pressure situations.
  • High level of acceptance.
  • Can drive Client's value and its methodology.
  • Proactively resolve issue and root cause analysis.
  • Experience :

  • Worked on Production systems.
  • Datacenter understanding.
  • Experience with hardware platforms.
  • Storage Management Techniques.
  • Experience on Sun / Veritas / Microsoft Cluster.
  • Knowledge on Cloud technologies like - Azure or AWS.
  • Prior experience of working in a DevOps / Agile environment will be an added advantage.
  • Working knowledge on ITSM tool - JIRA.
