Our client, a North American tool and mold company based out of Windsor, ON, is hiring for a permanent Senior Financial Analyst role. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ finance / accounting experience at a similar level, ideally in an automotive manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Corporate Performance Measurement Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst provides support to the Finance Department analyzing financial status by collecting, monitoring and studying data through a variety of financial reports and recommending actions for improvement.
- Assisting with operational analysis, KPI reporting, forecasting & budgeting, cost analysis and other ad hoc financial reporting.
- Forecasts revenue changes and expenditure increases / decreases
- Determines cost of operations by collecting data and reporting on operational results
- Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Assists in tracking and reporting on key performance metrics and scorecard results
- Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; providing trends and forecasts; explaining processes and techniques; recommending actions
- Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
- Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements
- Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data
- Prepares capital appropriation studies and provides recommendations based on results
- Performs as back up to the Corporate Performance Measurement Manager
- Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data
- Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Provides analytical support to manufacturing plants including, but not limited to, make vs. buy studies
- Ability to identify opportunities and solutions for process improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability as well as strong time management skills
- Must be well organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight reporting deadlines
- Previous experience in the tooling industry with knowledge of percentage of completion revenue recognition would be a definite asset
- Must be adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
5+ years experience working in Finance and / or AccountingCollege or University Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business AdministrationCPA designation or actively pursuing designationPrevious experience in the tooling industry with knowledge of percentage of completion revenue recognition would be a definite assetIntermediate to Advanced Excel Skills are requiredExperience in new software solutions implementationsAttentive to details, good interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environmentExcellent communication skills - written and verbalProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with the aptitude to learn new software quicklyWe thank you for your interest in the opportunity.
