Tiger is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to Maintain and repair Tiger’s fleet of commercial vehicles. Oversee and supervise the operations of the nightshift crew.

What you will do in this role :

  • Provide leadership, mentoring and training to mechanics.
  • Assist mechanics with troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Generate, assign, and review work orders utilizing TMT Fleet Maintenance Software.
  • Perform CVIP Inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair Tiger’s fleet of tractors and trailers.
  • Mentor and coach apprentices on the job to enhance their skills and abilities.
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general workshop cleaning duties.
  • Adhere, promote, and enforce Tiger’s Safety Management System policies and procedures.
  • Support and encourage continuous learning and improvement in work practices.
  • Some out-of-hours work may be required on a call-out basis.
  • Perform related work as required.
  • Completing Field Level Hazard Assessments.
  • What we are looking for :

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with CVIP ticket.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity within a maintenance shop environment.
  • A Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver’s license would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Cummins engines, aftertreatment diagnostics, hydraulic systems, Super B trailers, and TMT Fleet Maintenance Software would be considered an asset.
  • Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power-driven equipment and tools.
  • Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, airbrake mechanical, and hydraulic system failures.
  • Familiarity with the TMT software application would be considered an asset.
  • Has a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization, demonstrating an open, honest, and consistent approach to working with others.
  • Ability to supervise crews of 6 or more employees.
  • Ability to work independently and to ensure quality completion of multiple projects.
