As part of our continued growth and commitment to excellence, WSP is seeking a Air Quality Group Manager for our British Columbia and Yukon (BC / YT) Environmental Management (EM) Group.

Our BC / YT Air Quality team delivers comprehensive services in regulatory permitting, air quality assessment, and air quality modeling to support sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.

We specialize in GHG and climate policy, air quality and meteorological monitoring, and odour monitoring and modeling, providing high-quality solutions for government, industry, and infrastructure clients.

The aim being to strengthen existing client relationships and actively contribute to securing new ones by delivering exceptional service and acting as a trusted advisor.

  • Support Project Success - Oversee project lifecycles to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, meeting all technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement Process Improvements - Identify and implement best practices, refining processes to enhance efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize resource utilization across the team.
  • Strengthen Cross-Functional Collaboration - Build strong relationships across departments, encouraging knowledge sharing and collective problem-solving to achieve integrated project success.

Who You Are

  • A relevant undergraduate degree in environmental or chemical engineering, environmental science or closely related discipline.
  • 10-15 years of experience in a consulting environment with a focus on Air Quality.
  • Holds a professional registration in the province / territory of work; if currently practicing outside of BC / YT, eligibility to obtain professional registration within one year.
  • Achieved a senior level of technical proficiency in Air Quality and are committed to the continued development of those skills.
  • Proficient in air dispersion modeling software (e.g., AERMOD, CALPUFF) and emissions calculations tools is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent working knowledge and demonstrable understanding of relevant legislation, policy, technical guidance and industry standards and best practice.
  • Proven commitment to Health & Safety (H&S) standards and practices, with a track record of promoting an inclusive and diverse (I&D) work environment that prioritizes safety, respect, and well-being for all team members.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to prioritise and manage deadline pressure, ambiguity and change and the ability to build partnerships across disciplines and areas of expertise.
  • Self-motivated leader with excellent inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, team environment.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience, including training, reviewing work, and performance management.
  • A proven track record of successful business development, and of fostering client relationships.
  • Commitment to technical excellence and ability to write proposals and technical reports.
  • Financial, forecasting and budgeting experience.
  • Strategic and business planning experience.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations) : $122,500 to $187,200

WSP Canada is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to the specific geographic location.
