aerialPLOT is a web-based software solution designed for agricultural research and on-farm evaluations. The platform automates the extraction of data from aerial imagery at operational scale to reduce the reliance on manual labor and subjectivity. aerialPLOT provides a portal to easily analyze, manage, and share this data in real-time across the growing season. The analytical tools in aerialPLOT enable users to elevate their field studies and learn more every trip to the field.
Role Description
You will start at aerialPLOT by learning how to fly drones using the aerialPLOT platform and how to process that data using our methodologies and workflow. Simultaneous you will be learning how this data is leveraged by clients. You will support client success, education, and conversation to the aerialPLOT platform. Your frontline work is the most important step our multipronged approach to agriculture research. After quickly learning how aerialPLOT collects data in the field, you will be expected to help determine how to expand our Canadian client base and support client success and sales. Travel up to 75% of the time during the summer is necessary.

Qualifications
- Strong background in soil science, agriculture, irrigation, plant nutrition, and research
- Experience working in crop research and precision agriculture
- Expertise in the use of aerial imagery, remote sensing, and other geospatial technologies
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends and insights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with customers and teammates
- Desired : Prior technical sales experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, Environmental Science, or related field
- Strong communication and presentation skills are a must. Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to precisely present who they are and their abilities
Job Requirements and Responsibilities :
All employees will be required to obtain a Basic Operations Pilot CertificateCollect UAV imagery at research farms throughout the seasonFollow aerialPLOT workflow to analyze UAV imageryDevelop unique agriculture insights from research collected around the country in a wide range of agriculture cropsDigital Agronomists follow specific SOPs, leverage aerialPLOT software, and maintain professionalism in the field. Digital Agronomists at aerialPLOT require extensive travel, including overnight stays up to 75% of the week during peak season, walking through uneven and rough terrain, and lifting more than 50 lbs.Must maintain a clean driving record with the ability to pass a driving background check.Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid Canadian driver’s licenseTechnology savvy is a requirementAbility to collaborate and influence through strong communication and interpersonal skills to both technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to think strategically, while staying on top of tactical execution prioritiesSupport Local and global teams with agronomic insightsWork creatively and manage multiple project deliverables with limited guidance in a dispersed team environmentFamiliarity with emerging ag tech, and on-farm applications and operationsA tendency to opt towards practical solutions in agricultureExperience working with and building start-up businesses is preferred, but not requiredExperience with sales and / or business development preferred
