The Opportunity

We are looking for a business-minded actuary to handle the pricing fordifferentproducts. You are more than a pricingactuary,you understand the demands of an external partner, as well as the ins-and-outs ofprice modelling. You provide excellent actuarial advice and influence decisions using analysis and data. You thrive in a fast-moving environment where your opinion and experience are valued.

This position will alsobe responsible forproviding statisticalexpertise, researching new pricing methods, and ensuring a smooth implementation of rating plans and algorithm changes across Canada. Additionally, you will be expected to provide actuarialexpertiserelated to product design, corporate planning, and underwriting / segmentation analysis.

What you’ll do :

Own actuarial methods and assumptions for pricing.

Develop systems, processes, and methodologies for analyzing rates and products.

Collaborate with business partners to deliver pricing strategies and changes.

Mentor junior team members and act as a technical expert.

Ensure products meet the Product Development and Management Standard, and the Technical Pricing Standard.

Gain deep knowledge of your assigned book of business and Canadian market trends to provide strategic insights.

What you’ll bring :

Minimum 3 years of P&C experience.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to translate business needs into actuarial analysis (and vice versa).

Hands-on coding experience (Python preferred).

Exceptional analytical skills with a strong drive to explore, question, validate, and challenge assumptions to deliver accurate and meaningful insights.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.

What you’ll get :

The salary band for this position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
