About the role

We’re looking for an IT Business Analyst to join our growing team!

As an IT Business Analyst, you will work as part of a dynamic and collaborative team focused on delivering core transactions and processes and creating and enhancing products in our evolving Commercial and Specialty Lines underwriting application. Relying on your understanding of business products and processes, as well as your industry knowledge and technical skills, you will review and challenge current operational / business processes and contribute to delivering solutions aimed at enhancing the user experience.

With a dedication to innovation, with moderate supervision, you will :

Participate as a member of an agile squad where you will help the team estimate and plan the effort required to deliver moderately complex features for new initiatives in response to program roadmap priorities.

Work with Product Owners / stakeholders to realize the Product vision. Considering stakeholders needs you will assist in constantly re-prioritize and refining the squad backlog.

Work closely with the Product Owner and Development team members to conduct systems analysis to create robust system requirements for new features in response to the user stories.

Work within the scaled agile framework using either scrum or kanban methodology.

Uncover unknowns and engage in technical discussions to dig further into the proposed solutions with the Development team members.

Write, review, and recommend changes (business processes, system documentation and procedures) to enhance system usage as well as contribute to the integration of new processes and technologies within current operations.

Support and participate in the planning, design, and execution of tests cases.

Conduct defect triage and root cause analysis.

Skills :

3-5 years IT Business Analysis experience is required.

Proven proficiency in Agile Product development is required.

Experience using Agile SCRUM or KANBAN methodology is required.

Commercial and Specialty Lines Insurance lifecycle and Products knowledge is required.

Demonstrated ability to participate in creation or support of non-functional requirements is required.

Root cause analysis and defect triage experience is required.

Source to target data mapping experience and an understanding of data models is an asset.

Experience in supporting API integrations is an asset.

Experience creating system acceptance criteria scenarios in Gherkin format is an asset.

SQL experience and an understanding of relational databases is an asset.

Ability to extract and analyze xmls, logs, traces, to aid with applications analysis is an asset.

Experience interpreting wireframes for UX design requirements is an asset.

Experience working in a Services oriented environment is an asset

Experience with Visio or other workflow diagramming tools is an asset.

Experience with JIRA and Confluence is an asset.

Preference for experience with implementation of web-based policy administration systems with integrations to legacy applications.

For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong facilitation and coordination skills.
