Duties

The Project Coordinator will work under the supervision of more senior personnel performing Project Coordinator services related to implementing construction or renovation of office space, building upgrades or infrastructure projects.

Qualified candidates may be selected for either of the following teams :

Project Management Team

Key activities include, but are not limited to, preparation of contract documentation to assist in the acquisition of services, assist in quality assurance and reviews during the design and construction phase, review work of contractors with respect to adherence to project specifications and terms of reference, report on forecasts, project budgets, and report on project activities and performance.

The Project Coordinator will also assist in the preparation of technical project related documentation, correspondence, presentations, submissions etc.

The Project Coordinator will be expected to conduct site visits throughout various phases of the project.

Advisory Team

Key activities include, but are not limited to, preparation of project schedules, risk management planning, assistance with functional programming tasks, collaboration with other team members for overall project planning, and other related tasks.

Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. However, the results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in architecture, interior design or engineering OR an acceptable combination* of education and / or training and / or experience.

  • Acceptable combination is defined as a secondary school diploma from a recognized educational institution plus training (academic or vocational courses) related to the position and / or four years of continuous experience related to the position.
  • Recent and significant experience in the coordination, support and / or management of architectural OR engineering real property construction (may include buildings, interior fit up, structures and infrastructure).
  • Recent and significant experience using Microsoft Excel or similar software.
  • Recent and significant : at least 2 years of post graduation experience within the last 5 years.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in architecture, interior design or engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural).

  • Recent and significant experience preparing Statements of Work and / or Terms of Reference for the acquisition of consultant services.
  • Recent and significant experience with design and / or construction contract documents including drawings and specifications.

Experience using AutoCAD software.

  • Recent and significant experience in the provision of interior design services to clients, including the development of furniture layout drawings, selection & procurement of furniture for fit up projects, etc.
  • Recent and significant experience in the use of the PSPC Furniture Supply Arrangement.

Experience using Microsoft Project

Recent and significant : at least 2 years of post graduation experience within the last 5 years.

Operational Requirements

Willing and able to work overtime, as required.

Willing and able to travel to client meetings, as required.

Willing and able to travel to project sites, including the use of PPE and perform physical activities related to the project site, as required.

Possession of a valid driver's license or personal mobility to the extent normally associated with the possession of a driver's license.
