Hays Specialist Recruitment has partnered with a large property managementpany based in Calgary, AB. We are seeking an Accountant to join their team immediately.
This is a part-time role on a 3-month contract.
Please note this is a part-time role of 20 21 hours per week for 3 days per week (Monday-Friday, Standard business hours).
Your new roleYou will be conducting day to day property accounting functions related tomercial real estate properties and corporate entities.
The Property Accountant reports to the controller, and will have daily interaction with property managers, property owners and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of allpany transactions and balances (USD & CAD).
- Prepare financial statements for corporations, properties, and trusts (approximately 10)
- Prepare year-end working paper files and schedules
- AP / AR / GL transactions
- Cost recoveries and distribution of properties
- Financial statement preparation and variance analysis
- Prepare GST reconciliations, efile, and make payments
- Assist in the development of annual budgets.
- Other ad hoc reporting
What you'll need to succeed2+ years of accounting experience, ideally property accounting experience.
- Yardi experience is an asset.
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
