Job description

RVH is seeking a  MEDICAL RADIATION TECHNOLOGIST – MRT(R)  to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our program, you will play a crucial role in all aspects of General Radiography, with opportunity to receive additional specialty training in CT, Mammography or Interventional Radiology. Medical Imaging at RVH offers an expansive range of Radiography imaging programs including General Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography, Breast Imaging and Interventional Radiology. As the hub of our region, we provide a high level of complex imaging across all modalities including high risk OBSP, advanced cardiac and acute stroke CT imaging, life changing embolization and thrombolysis interventional procedures, and cutting-edge treatments such as Trans arterial Radioembolization. Qualifications :

  • Graduate of a recognized, accredited Radiography education program.
  • Registered in good standing with College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program.
  • Membership with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) preferred.

  • Demonstrated commitment to continued professional and personal growth and development through Continuing Education Programs and Self-Directed Learning Opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of Safety Code 35, RHPA and standards of practice for related field.
  • Able to identify and recommend process improvement opportunities.
  • Recent satisfactory performance appraisal and attendance record.
  • No recent disciplinary events.
  • Responsibilities :

  • Perform all required General Radiography examinations as prescribed by physicians in accordance with relevant protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain strong team environment amongst fellow Medical Radiation Technologists, nursing team, radiologists and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency in all aspects of General Radiography and minor special procedures.
  • Deliver high quality, safe and compassionate patient care.
  • Work with and participate in evaluation of students from affiliated education programs as needed.
