What To Expect
Tesla Toronto Automation is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Technical Project Manager. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting a diverse project set across multiple business units, including but not limited to facilities, workplace and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a multitude of parallel projects, technically strong and decisive, and well organized.
What You’ll Do
- Support the facilities and manufacturing teams in planning, execution, and completion of special industrial projects, including CNC machining setups, machine installations, HVAC upgrades, electrical integrations, and construction initiatives
- Create workspace, shop floor, and project layouts in AutoCAD by collaborating with teams to gather input and complete designs, ensuring adherence to standards and integration with existing systems
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors for construction, electrical work, HVAC systems, and infrastructure upgrades; negotiate contracts and resolve on‑site issues
- Handle ad‑hoc day‑to‑day responsibilities related to workplace operations and personnel, including mentoring staff and addressing immediate needs
- Prepare budgets, track expenses, provide status reports, and manage ad‑hoc projects like feasibility studies for equipment, expansions, or organizational improvement projects
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience. Certifications such as PMP are preferred3-5 years of experience in industrial project management, with involvement in construction, HVAC / electrical projects, or similar areas in OntarioStrong proficiency in AutoCAD for layout and design work, along with familiarity in other CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)In-depth understanding of construction processes, workplace planning, HVAC systems, machine installations, and electrical projectsProven project management skills for multiple initiatives, with strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities; familiarity with tools like MS Project or Asana is a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for team and vendor coordination; ability to work independently in a hands‑on industrial environmentBackground in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, sustainable practices, or emerging technologies like automation / IoT is preferred#J-18808-Ljbffr
