Financial Analyst
Job Title : Finance Analyst
Location : Calgary, AB (hybrid)
Duration : 6 month contract (chance to extend)
Your New Company
A leading company in the Canadian Gas Operations industry is looking to add a member to their team for a 6 month contract.
Your new role
- Support Canadian Natural Gas settlement and regulatory processes;
- Assist with Canadian Natural Gas monthly and quarterly reporting;
- Respond to ad hoc requests to support Commercial and Regulatory initiatives;
- Work together with the NGTL / Foothills and Canadian Mainline accounting teams to complete month-end accounting activities including journal entries, analysis and reconciliations;
- Develop and maintain Excel models used to support accounting and regulatory processes;
- Proactively analyze financial information and / or accounting processes to identify issues and ensure appropriate timely resolution of these issues;
Assist with periodic presentation material of financial results to key user groups.
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum 8 years of progressive related experience
CPA professional accounting designation required
Financial and / or management reporting experience
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines with multiple priorities
Advanced knowledge of Excel with aptitude to optimize Excel models
Driven by continuous improvement and innovation
Assets
Experience working with SAP, BPC, Power BI and Workiva
Experience with consolidations and divestitures
Knowledge of US GAAP
Experience with Rate Regulated Accounting
