The Opportunity
We are seeking a financial analyst reporting to the Manager, CGL Finance within the Corporate Finance department. This role requires strong knowledge and experience in financial modeling as the analyst will be part of a team that supports major construction project financing.
The candidate should have a working knowledge of financial statements and enjoy solving complex problems using Excel modeling and be able to interface with functional areas across the organization.
It is expected this role will also support financial modeling requirements for other TC Energy joint venture projects as required.
What you'll do
- Oversees the development and testing of project finance model to support economic evaluation and present analysis to management
- Ensure compliance requirements met for multiple credit agreements and bond indenture
- Provide financial analysis and support to CGL Commercial group and support other projects as necessary
- Liaise and support corporate areas with short-term and long-term plan information
- Prepare credit facility draw notices and reconciliation of forecasted costs
- Liaise with project Independent Engineers
- Monitor and review cash forecast requirements
- Prepare various monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance reports and certificates
- Maintain and monitor ongoing material identification compliance reporting process
- Lead process improvement initiatives and provides guidance to junior analyst
- Perform other ad hoc tasks
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or another related field
- 6 or more years of relevant experience; project finance experience preferred
- Advanced Excel based financial modeling skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a keen attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, CFA or CPA
- Ability to perform complex financial and economic modeling
- Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts
- Energy sector experience
