Job description

Title : Greenhouse Maintenance Officer

Reports to : Farms Production Manager

Based at : Mucci Farms 1,2,3. Kingsville, ON.

Type of Employment : Full time, permanent, 6-7 days a week (as required); often extended hours depending on workload and priorities, and on-call when needed.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities :

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all building and mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Maintain various farms, including installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment
  • Troubleshooting and responding to maintenance calls at various farms
  • Inspect, repair and lubricate machines and equipment
  • Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
  • Maintaining inventory of all supplies, tools, and materials.
  • Complete and maintain all maintenance reports and records

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Must have good coordination and manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of repairing and replacing defective parts
  • Mechanical abilities in order to help troubleshoot production issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate any machinery breakdown, material concerns or shortages to maintenance, production supervisor or manager.

    • Physical Abilities :

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and / or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and / or legs.
  • Must be able to lift material regularly up to 14 kg / 30 lbs; and occasionally up to 23 kg / 50lbs
  • Must be able to climb stairs and stand on feet for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work in a temperature-controlled environment of approximately 13 ˚C / 55 ˚F.
