This Role :

Our team is currently seeking a skilled and hands on person as Millwright / Electrician for our Nobel, Ontario facility. This unionized position would be an in-person, afternoon shift role reporting to our Maintenance Supervisor.

The schedule for this role is 10 hour shifts 4 days / week (Monday to Thursday from 4h15pm to 2h15am). Mandatory overtime on Fridays and / or being on call could apply when needed.

What You Will Do :

The Millwright / Electrician is responsible for the assembly, installation maintenance of new equipment and machines. He / she must be able to make modifications maintenance to existing equipment and be able to investigate and rectify electrical problems.

How You Will Do It :

  • Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, modify, and install any production and building equipment in accordance with Ontario electrical code regulations
  • Complete preventive maintenance forms, work orders and reports daily.
  • Be on call after regular working hours when requested.
  • Follow lock out procedure.
  • Make recommendations for improving equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workplace environment.
  • Perform all work in good standard.
  • Work in a manner consistent with the measures and procedures required by the occupational health and safety act, safety rules and regulations, and to use or wear the equipment, protective devices required.
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Adhere to all applicable Business Operating Systems Procedures.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other reasonable request by management.

What We’re Looking For (Skills / Experience required) :

Candidates who :

  • Hold current and valid Canadian work authorization without requiring future sponsorship (required)
  • Are a certified electrician in the Province of Ontario (required) and have completed a grade 12 education or equivalent (required).

Are either forklift / scissor lift currently or are eligible to become licensed (required)

  • Offer 2 years of experience as an Electrician / Millwright (required) in an automotive environment (preferred)
  • Offer previous working experience with : independent troubleshooting of ethernet based AB plc including spectra laser positioning systems, reading electrical / hydraulic / pneumatic schematics, working with hydraulic circuitry such as pumps motors and valves, and understanding of plc control systems, servo drives and ac / dc drives
  • Have functional verbal, written and reading English skills (required)
  • Are proficient with general computer use, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) (strongly preferred)

Physical Requirements :

This role will require the ability to stand / walk for 10 hour shifts, as well as the ability to lift up to 25kg, and perform actions which require manual dexterity, sometimes from heights.

What We Offer :

Basic hourly rate : $ 36.84 (On March 1, 2024, hourly rate will be raised to $ 37.34)

Premium 2nd shift rate : $ 0.75 (additional to basic hourly rate)
