We offer several designated marshalling points within BC including Nanaimo, Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops, Prince George, Smithers, and Calgary, AB.

Our Red Chris Mine Operations Team is now recruiting for the position of Driller with a competitive hourly rate of $45.29.

Purpose of the Role :

This role will report to the Drill & Blast Supervisor and will be responsible for the safe and productive operation of Sandvik , Sandvik Leopard and Pit viper drills.

We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Accountabilities

Safety : Demonstrate absolute commitment in providing a safe working environment by :

• Promote and maintain a culture of safe production’ by compliance with company safety systems, policies, procedures and accountabilities
• Ensure all incidents, near miss and hazards are reported
• Display behaviour consistent with Newmont’s Code of Conduct

Technical Accountabilities

• Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, complete FLHAs on a regular basis
• Operate various Drills (Sandvik , Pit viper and Sandvik leopard ) in a safe manner
• Conduct inspections of the work area prior to work beginning
• Working with a digital fleet management system
• Perform pre-trip and post -trip safety inspections and complete daily logbook reports for equipment
• Report all unsafe conditions
• Maintain good housekeeping practices

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years in an open pit drilling program.
• Preference of 1 years' experience operating Sandvik , Pit viper , Leopard series drills will be given.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
