POSITION : Children’s Program Supervisor
LOCATION : Barrie with responsibility throughout Simcoe County
REASON FOR RECRUITMENT : New Position
This is a non‑bargaining unit position.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Children’s Program Supervisor (Supervisor) will provide oversight for direct support programs as assigned, ensuring that applicable policies and procedures and program level standards and guidelines are followed. The Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision to staff as they carry out their responsibilities, the implementation of evidence‑based strategies, and assisting in the evaluation of the Children’s Programs.
STATEMENT OF MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide leadership and coaching that facilitates excellence in staff performance through regular and ongoing meetings
- To provide direct supervision and ongoing performance evaluation, and opportunities for professional development
- To participate in recruiting staff, through joint interviewing, as needed
- To act as a resource and support to staff to assess client needs, identify problem‑solving strategies and debrief on difficult service situations
- To provide direct support to persons served where coverage for staff is required, or in complex situations
- To monitor the quality of case management / coordination services provided to clients, ensuring compliance with agency standards and guidelines
- To oversee the development of integrated service plans including crisis and safety planning and to facilitate a team review process
- To investigate complaints or performance concerns; implement disciplinary action as needed and in consultation with Director of Children’s Services and Human Resources
- To monitor the quality of service provided to clients, ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures
- To oversee the development of integrated services plans including crisis and safety planning and to facilitate a team review process
- To monitor the performance of purchased services; including clinical supports and Outside Paid Resources when required
- To coordinate collection of data and preparation of statistical reports required by funders and for evaluation and quality assurance purposes
- To maintain a collaborative working relationship with professional agencies, community and government representatives
- To promote the agency in the community, through presentations, literature and inter‑agency functions
- To provide leadership in identifying new initiatives that address gaps in service for children / youth, families
- To adhere to agency policies and procedures, and the Collective Agreement
- To be current with legislative requirements of the programs delivered and accountable for meeting these requirements
- To practice effective communication with co‑workers, consulting and sharing resource information and providing case coverage as required
- To participate in committee and community development work internally or externally as assigned
- To participate in professional development in consultation with Director of Children’s Services and demonstrates initiative in learning and developing new techniques of service delivery
- To be aware of and adhere to Health & Safety Policy requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Level
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in social sciencesMinimum of 3 years’ experience in developing community programsProven ability to supervise / coordinate the work of others, including experience in supervising teams or direct staffKnowledge and Skills

Eligible staff will have the opportunity to work from an approved remote location, up to 50% of their work time. Restrictions apply and are covered in our Alternate Work Options Policy.
Hourly Rate Range : $66,698 - $78,518 annual, Wellness Program, Employee Assistance Program, plus a generous Employee Benefit Package, including a Pension & Health and Dental Plan.
