About the Opportunity
The Project Advisor is a member of the Project Services team, which itself is part of the Strategy, Performance and Analytics portfolio of corporate services.
Project Services supports the entire Nova Scotia Health organization, with the exception of several corporate services such as Information Management / Technology (IM / IT) who have their own project managers on staff and with whom Project Services partners, as required.
Within it's scope are strategic organizational transformations, clinical service improvements, corporate process improvements, as well as support to zones, clinical networks and programs of care.
Further to individual projects and initiatives, Project Services also strategically partners with zones, clinical networks and programs of care, offering portfolio management expertise in the form of Project Management Offices (PMOs).
Reporting to the Manager, Project Services, the Project Advisor supports Project Managers, and NS Health operational leaders to plan, implement, track and monitor project work conducted by or on behalf of zones, networks, programs or corporate teams.
Types of projects supported include NS Health strategic priorities and key performance improvement initiatives. Assignments will fall under various portfolios as required.
Project Advisors are responsible for enabling large and / or complex projects with tools, processes and general support, as well as directly overseeing small and / or lower complexity projects as required by each assignment.
This is a Provincial position utilizing a hybrid workplace model that combines working from home with working onsite. Candidates can live and work from anywhere in the province, with travel required only as necessary.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following :
- Post-secondary degree, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- 2 years’ experience applying project management processes to large scale initiatives
- Project management certification an asset
- Formal project management training an asset
- Formal organizational change management training is considered an asset
- Applied knowledge of the software Smartsheet a strong asset
- Experience developing project management tools for efficient and streamlined tracking, retrieval and distribution of project information
- Experience facilitating team meetings
- Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Experience in assigned service area would be an asset
- Critical analysis skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
Long assignment, full-time positions, 75 hrs bi-weekly, x4 full-time positions
Beginning as soon as possible with an expected end date of May 27, 2025 (Approximately 12 months)

Compensation and Incentives
$35.27 - $44.09 Hourly
