E-Coat Co-op
Position Overview :
Multimatic Dynamic Suspensions is looking for a E-coat Co-op who will be responsible for delivering a reliable and consistent flow of quality painted parts through the control of a stable e-coat process and the operation and maintenance of its ancillary equipment.
This position is for the Fall 2024 Term.

Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare the start-up and monitor and shutdown the e-coat wastewater and conveyor systems.
- Conduct analytical and instrumental analyses (gravimetric and volumetric) on all process tanks, interpret the results and make the required paint and chemical additions and / or adjustments to equipment to maintain a stable process.
- Conduct all process tests and performance tests on finished parts as scheduled and to required specification.
- Monitor the functioning of all process equipment and perform the necessary tasks to ensure an efficient operation and an uninterrupted production flow.
- Monitor and maintain records of process equipment performance parameters (i.e., ultra-filtration system, paint chillier, R.
O water generating plant, chemical metering pumps anolyte system, hot water generating unit, coalescing filters, and filter presses).
- Perform routine maintenance on the above equipment (i.e., changing and purging filter systems, removal of waste sludge, etc).
- Monitor inventory levels of chemicals and consumables.
- Conduct routine week-end process tanks cleaning as scheduled.
- Maintain housekeeping standards as established.
- Perform wastewater treatment analyses and e-coat performance tests.
- Collect film-thickness data and assist in the preparation of process capability reports.

Basic Requirements :
- Pursuing a college or university degree in chemistry or chemical engineering technology.
- Have knowledge of e-coat materials, processes, and process equipment.
- Working knowledge of S.P.C, Gage R&R, Calibrations and Q.O.S. is a definite asset.
- Ability to make positive recommendations affecting process operations.
- Strong communication skills.
