Description

We are seeking a talented RF Engineer to contribute to the testing and development of cutting-edge on-chip signal delivery systems.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in RF engineering principles, experience with RF simulation and measurement tools, and a keen interest in exploring the intersection of RF and photonics, particularly in cryogenic environments.

You are skilled at analyzing and troubleshooting complex RF systems, and you enjoy working in collaborative, cross-disciplinary environments.

Please include a cover letter with your resume (in one file) describing how you would be a great fit at Photonic and what attributes you could bring to our growing team.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

  • Deliver on-chip RF circuits, components, and systems that enable delivery of signals to and from cryogenic environments.
  • Utilization of industry-standard RF simulation software (e.g., ADS, HFSS) to model and analyze RF performance.
  • Conduct comprehensive RF measurements using network analyzers, signal generators, and other test equipment.
  • Analyze and interpret measurement data to identify and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, fab engineers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Document and design processes, test procedures, and results.
  • Develop and implement new test methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of on-chip devices for use in cryogenic environments.

WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in RF engineering test and development.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles, including transmission lines, impedance matching, and scattering parameters.
  • Sound knowledge of RF components, circuits, and subsystems.
  • Proficiency in RF simulation software (e.g., ADS, HFSS).
  • Experience with RF measurement equipment and techniques (network analyzers, signal generators, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automating tasks.

An exceptional candidate will bring :

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience with quantum technologies (e.g., superconducting qubits, quantum photonics) a strong plus.
  • Experience with designing and testing RF components for specific applications (e.g., wireless communication, radar, medical imaging).
  • Knowledge of cryogenic systems and low-temperature RF / photonics.
  • Experience with on-chip RF design and integration.

WHY YOU SHOULD WORK WITH US

  • Get involved with a quantum startup company set to redefine computing.
  • Work closely with some of the brightest innovators in quantum technologies.
  • Enjoy a fast-paced and fun environment where you can try new things while solving innovative challenges every day.
  • Inclusive company culture.
  • Competitive salary, benefits (including life insurance, extended health, dental, long-term disability, and a flexible spending account), and potential upside.

The description above is what we think an ideal candidate would look like for this role. At Photonic, we understand that everyone has a different work and life journey.

If you feel your experience is close to what we've described, but you might not meet all the requirements, please still apply! We are also committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

We embrace and encourage our employees’ differences, knowing that these very differences inspire innovation and build better teams.

If there are any accommodations our team can make throughout our hiring process, please let us know.
